Leadership
Maria Malavenda
Maria, Senior Partner, KONNECTED Consulting LLC, formerly VP, Strategy and Corporate Development for Monster Worldwide, focuses her expertise on advising global businesses from start-ups and venture capital firms to the Fortune 50 across the life sciences, healthcare, and healthcare-IT sectors on innovation, strategy, organizational and operational improvements. Ms. Malavenda also served in executive roles at Accenture and Deloitte in their healthcare strategy and operations practice and began her career at Johnson & Johnson where she spent 10 years in various leadership roles including Vice President of Sales and Marketing. She offers an unusual blend of creativity and global perspectives, coupled with an ability to deal with the complexities of challenges whose outcomes depend upon the interactions between business, consumers, patients, and market dynamics, technologies, finance, and public policy.
Ms. Malavenda has led a broad range of projects with a successful track record in stimulating and driving change in a variety of businesses in the healthcare, financial services, media/entertainment, and hi-tech industries. She recently co-wrote a highly respected action plan for President Obama focused on healthcare-reform, FDA-reform, and healthcare-IT reform.
Ms. Malavenda has written and published on topics such as Consumerism in Healthcare; No More Barriers: The Digital and New Media Revolution and Its Effects on the Patient and the Businesses that Serve Them; How are These Connected - Women Managing Healthcare Decisions and Consumer Purchases; Wellness and Its Place in the Business Operation. Ms. Malavenda is a frequent presenter on consumer and personalized health strategies, serves as an advisor to the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center, and sits on the Board for World Health Congress. Ms. Malavenda is also the Chair for KONNECTED Women's Initiative and serves as a mentor for the Healthcare Business Women's Association and regional committee member for Network for Executive Women. She is the recipient of multiple national, industry, and organizational awards for superior leadership, performance, and contributions.
Ms. Malavenda holds degrees from Brown University and the University of Connecticut School of Business.
Sharon Meyers
Sharon Meyers, Partner, brings over 20 years of industry and consulting experience to KONNECTED. She focuses on strategy, technology and operations improvement.
Prior to KONNECTED, Sharon was the Vice President at Healthwise, Inc, where she led Sales and Marketing. Previously, she was Senior Director of Product Management at Resource Technologies focusing on bringing a next generation claims and benefits software application to market. Sharon was also a Partner with First Consulting Healthcare focusing on Financial Systems, Transformation and Turnaround Services. She has served in management and senior consulting roles with the Global Healthcare & Life Sciences Industry practices of BCG, CapGemini, and Accenture and began her career at Aetna Life & Casualty.
Sharon has led a broad range of projects in the healthcare and life sciences industry. She has extensive experience in leading information technology strategies, supply chain improvement programs, merger and consolidation assessments, pricing and reimbursement planning, and financial transformation and turnaround programs across several business sectors. She has written and spoken on topics from business intelligence to emerging managed care system strategies. Sharon holds degrees from the University of Connecticut and Columbia University.
Martyn Roetter, Ph.D.
Martyn, Senior Partner, joins KONNECTED after several years as a management consultant & advisor to high technology business executives, regulators, and investors on matters involving products, markets, competitors, sales channels, and technology. He offers an unusual blend of creativity and global perspectives, coupled to an ability to deal with the complexities of challenges whose outcomes depend upon the interactions between business and market dynamics, technologies, finance, and public policy. He has extensive business experience in Europe, the Americas, Asia and elsewhere. Over the course of his career he has initiated or contributed to the foundation and growth of several new services businesses.
Martyn has over 25 years of consulting experience with firms such as Arthur D. Little, PA Consulting as well as his own firm - MFRConsulting. Martyn was a Vice President and Partner at Arthur D. Little. He founded the European arm of the company's TIME (Telecommunications, Information, Media, and Electronics) practice in Europe from a base in Paris, and later led this practice at various times in North America and at the global level. He served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Compensation Committee of Allen Telecom (a leading global supplier of wireless subsystems) from 1998 until its acquisition by Andrew Corp. in 2003.
He has published and been frequently quoted in the business, financial, and trade press on issues affecting the communications and information industries, and has co-authored several books on the uses of information technology. He is a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Communications Society.
He was educated in England, Germany, and the U.S., and holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Oxford. A U.S. citizen, he speaks French and German in addition to English.
